Welcome to the season of joy, celebration, and sharing with your loved ones! As the holiday season rolls in, bringing with it Thanksgiving dinners, Holiday get-togethers, Christmas Eve feasts, and New Year's Eve celebrations, we at Chefpost are thrilled to help you host with ease. We know that hosting the perfect holiday party is about more than just the food—it's about creating unforgettable experiences for you and your loved ones without the stress of cooking, serving, or cleaning up. That's where we come in!
I'm thrilled to share some insider tips and tricks from my experience as the founder of Chefpost, a hostess haven to book personal chefs for all gatherings. The holidays are a time for indulgence, warmth, and, of course, delicious food. So, let's dive into crafting the ideal holiday soirée you and your guests will cherish for years.
Step-by-Step Guide to Your Perfect Holiday Party
1. Guests List (6-8 Weeks Before the Party)
You probably know WHAT you are celebrating. Think Friendsgiving, Thanksgiving, holiday party, Christmas Eve dinner, Christmas brunch, New Year’s Eve, or a birthday party. There is always a reason to celebrate. Life is a special occasion. Celebrate it!
Now, let’s get to the basics: decide When and Who your guests are. Choose the date and time that suits you best and make the guest list. When creating your guest list, consider diverse relationships and people who will contribute to an enjoyable atmosphere.
2. Setting the Stage: (4-6 Weeks before the party)
When it comes to holiday parties, the second step is to envision the kind of gathering you desire. Whether you dream of an elegant sit-down dinner or a cozy cocktail-style affair, tailoring the event to your preferences is essential. Create a mood board with things you like. My favorite place to get inspo is our Chefpost’s Pinterest page @chefpostpins. We have boards for all types of gatherings. Choose the look and feel you like the most and use it to create your invitations. Extra tip: When you book your chef at Chefpost with more than six (6) weeks in advance, the Experience Team can help you design a digital invitation.
Send the invitations four to three weeks before the party, especially during the holidays, when everyone has many commitments.
3. Book a Private Chef for the Holidays (4-3 weeks before the party)
Booking a private chef for the holidays is essential to entertain without the stress of cooking or serving. To choose the perfect chef for your gathering, visit www.chefpost.com, select your location and date, and you will find a list of the chefs available in your area. Each chef has their own menus, pricing, and experiences, so you can select the one that suits you best. Then select the menu and experience you want, add the time you want the chef to arrive (we recommend 3 hours before serving time), and leave any comments, suggestions, or instructions for the chef.
Indulge your taste buds in a delightful journey! Explore our experiences page to discover the magic of various cuisines through the exciting menus crafted by our amazing chefs. Be sure to check out all our Holiday Experiences too – a feast of joy awaits you!
If you want a more customized menu, the Chefpost Experience Team will help you personalize and coordinate all the details. Please contact the Chefpost team by phone, chat, or leaving a message here.

4. Party set-up (2-1 weeks before the party)
Make a walk-through and list everything you need to buy or rent for your party. Allow enough time for shipping in case you buy anything online. Work with what you have, or get scrappy and creative with fruits, vegetables, and flowers in season. Here is a checklist you can use to be prepared:
